I studied at the Norwich School of Art & Design and hold a diploma with distinction in botanical illustration from The Society of Botanical Artists. I am a member of The Wildlife Art Society and a Professional Member of the SAA.

My first exhibition caught the eye of a renowned publishing house which set me off on a successful illustrating career. To date I have had more than ninety pieces of artwork published as greeting cards, calendars and stationary and have worked with many publishers including the Medici Society, Gibson Greetings and Phoenix Trading.

My love of nature in particular flowers, birds and butterflies has had the most influence on my work. As well as sketching at home I take photographs at local zoos and wildlife sanctuaries and sketch & photograph in the surrounding countryside. I feel lucky to live in a beautiful part of the UK with salt marshes, rivers and ancient woodland all at my doorstep, not to mention Norfolk’s huge dramatic skies.

The gathered reference material I then use in my studio to create my wildlife and nature paintings. My botanical and floral paintings are painted directly from nature, and my garden which is jam packed with favourite cottage garden plants, provides me with valuable subject matter. My still life paintings feature blue and white china, crystal vases, pearls and old white lace; all things that I have collected over the years. 

As well as commercial commissions I have also worked on many private commissions from homes and gardens to horses and cats and have even been commissioned to paint a young lady in Pre Raphaelite style and costume.
